Sorry there were no picture posts this week. We have had a rough week and I didn't really have a chance to take pictures.
We were able to adjust the kids sleep schedules and although they still go to bed pretty early I am satisfied with our progress. They both wake up around 7:30 take a nap around 11:30 for an hour and go to bed around 6. It is kind of a big deal for A because he has always went to bed extremely early, the boy loves to sleep. We will not miss the 4:30 mornings at all.
A has started to babble more. He always has something to say and hopefully soon those babbles will be words. He has been busy all week playing with his "treasure" beads Daddy brought back from working a tent at Gasperilla. I can't wait until the next local parade since they both are obsessed with the beads. We have been busy getting everything ready for A's evaluation next week. We are anxious to get it over with. A managed to smuggle a whole roll of toilet paper into the tub yesterday... what a mess! I am still trying to get it out of his hair!
Iz has been a busy little bee. She didn't do very well on the first couple days of her new schedule. There were a lot of meltdowns, some lasting hours at a time. I hate the big meltdowns because it is very difficult to figure out what is upsetting her and it breaks my heart that she gets so upset. I have found that when it gets really bad a bath seems to help. Water seems to have a therapeutic effect for her so I'd like to look into getting a water table and adding some activities using it to our daily routine. On Wednesday we had a very big moment, for the first time she picked her dinner as I listed off choices and she actually ate! We have had a lot of problems with her eating because she only eats a handful of foods and even then most of the time she refuses to eat. Yesterday was another rough day, we met her new Speech Therapist (ST) and it did not go well. I ended up giving our old provider a call to see if she has found another agency and she told us that she would contact us as soon as she starts again. So for now we are going to keep trying with the new ST. I really hope it will get better.
We are starting to plan our trip to Indiana and I can't wait! It has been so long since I've seen my family and I am excited for them all to meet J and the kids. My Dad is so excited and has been looking at things to do with the kids. I am still sad that we are not moving but it will happen when the time is right.
