A Few Pictures

The past few weeks have been very busy. I may have been over ambitious on trying to post pictures twice weekly. But as things calm down they will be posted more frequently. I feel like the past week or so we've been going nonstop.

We bought A a new toddler bed. It is pretty awesome. it is shaped like a rocket ship. The first night we tried was a disaster. He was overtired and cranky and kept escaping. This was the first time he opened a door so we were caught a bit off guard  We ended up caving and putting him back in the crib. I have been trying to get him to play in and near his bed to get him used to it. For some reason he gets nervous getting in and out of it. His evaluation was rescheduled to Friday at 1. I am ready to get it over with.

Iz has been busy saying a lot of new words and phrases. A new favorite is "what happened?" She is such a little sweetie. We have been having a little trouble with our new speech therapist. Iz isn't very comfortable with her and she never returns my calls to schedule. I am hoping we can resolve this soon. But I spoke with her old provider and she may be working with us through private therapy.
The pictures were a bit last minute so I'll try to get some more of Alex up today or tomorrow.

I just love those curls

Your 3 Words: It's Finally Friday!

Sorry there were no picture posts this week. We have had a rough week and I didn't really have a chance to take pictures.

We were able to adjust the kids sleep schedules and although they still go to bed pretty early I am satisfied with our progress. They both wake up around 7:30 take a nap around 11:30 for an hour and go to bed around 6. It is kind of a big deal for A because he has always went to bed extremely early, the boy loves to sleep. We will not miss the 4:30 mornings at all.

A has started to babble more. He always has something to say and hopefully soon those babbles will be words. He has been busy all week playing with his "treasure" beads Daddy brought back from working a tent at Gasperilla. I can't wait until the next local parade since they both are obsessed with the beads. We have been busy getting everything ready for A's evaluation next week. We are anxious to get it over with. A managed to smuggle a whole roll of toilet paper into the tub yesterday... what a mess! I am still trying to get it out of his hair!

Iz has been a busy little bee. She didn't do very well on the first couple days of her new schedule. There were a lot of meltdowns, some lasting hours at a time. I hate the big meltdowns because it is very difficult to figure out what is upsetting her and it breaks my heart that she gets so upset. I have found that when it gets really bad a bath seems to help. Water seems to have a therapeutic effect for her so I'd like to look into getting a water table and adding some activities using it to our daily routine. On Wednesday we had a very big moment,  for the first time she picked her dinner as I listed off choices and she actually ate! We have had a lot of problems with her eating because she only eats a handful of foods and even then most of the time she refuses to eat. Yesterday was another rough day, we met her new Speech Therapist (ST) and it did not go well. I ended up giving our old provider a call to see if she has found another agency and she told us that she would contact us as soon as she starts again. So for now we are going to keep trying with the new ST. I really hope it will get better.

We are starting to plan our trip to Indiana and I can't wait! It has been so long since I've seen my family and I am excited for them all to meet J and the kids. My Dad is so excited and has been looking at things to do with the kids. I am still sad that we are not moving but it will happen when the time is right.
